What’s the Network?
The Network is a national umbrella organization comprised of approximately 100 affiliates which, since 1984, has facilitated the process of social transformation by focusing its activities on improving the lives of women and their families. The aim is the re-structuring of the existing gender imbalance towards more equitable gender relations.
The Network of NGOs hosted a launch of their project – measuring the economic costs of violence against women and girls in T&T.
The purpose of the launch was to share with key stakeholders the importance of such a project to the socio-economic development of the country. Estimating the direct and indirect costs will enable government and the private sector to understand the economic impact of violence against women and girls and ultimately enhance their working relationships with civil society to develop evidence-based responses in prevention and intervention of gender-based violence.
