I was very impressed with the prompt and pro-active way in which the Minister and PS approached the development of a action plan following the CEDAW Committee Concluding Observations.
Their willingness to collaborate om the matters in the action plan and to share information and responsibility were also welcome.
Of course resources will always be an issue, but with transparency and an on going monitoring and evaluation system, we will succeed in achieving our goals.
We will continue our advocacy for early implementation of the National Gender Policy as recommended in the Concluding Observations.
We also look forward to the Actions towards the creation of the national Commission. The actions proposed regarding the IADB project ‘Woman City’ was also noted.
